The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg was selected by the European ITS association “ERTICO-ITS Europe” as the host of the 28th ITS World Congress in 2021. The world congress will take place from 11-15 October 2021 in the refurbished Congress Centre (CCH), trade fair halls as well as on selected streets. The main themes of the congress are: “automated and connected driving”, MaaS – Mobility as a Service”, “ports and logistics” as well as “intelligent infrastructure”.
The ITS Strategy for the City of Hamburg pursued by the Hamburg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Innovation (BWVI) is the basis to promote the use of information and communications as well as innovative transport-related technologies in a structured manner. To advance the digital transformation the City of Hamburg, in conjunction with associations, businesses and research institutions, is bidding to host the ITS World Congress 2021.
With the vision “City of Solutions” Hamburg aims to become a pioneer in implementing intelligent transport systems and services and wants to evolve into a model city for intelligent mobility and logistics with the support of industry and research. Being the host for the ITS World Congress 2021 is a key step for achieving this aim. Join us now on our journey!
